A glimpse of what our life has been like these past month in pictures. For a state that is on the warmer side, it's been chilly this winter. Things are going great. We are officially living in the cottage, and on the hunt for permanent housing. I actually really like it here, even with the small living space. It is not a hardship because of all the things to do here. I am way more active here. The kids and I go for two to three walks every day. The boys love to fish most days, the little one's are loving the playground. Not only that, but we are meeting a lot of homeschoolers here. I was a little taken back that we have met four homeschooling families. Some are families staying the month because they are traveling the US, and some are here because their dads are contract oil workers. My kids have made some really good friends while they are here. The older boys are outside with their friends as soon as their school work is finished. It's been great.
The big boys showing off their favorite fishing spot.
Zander loves to take a walk by the water. He was my kid who refused to learn to swim, so I am hoping this new love will ease him into swimming lessons as soon as we find a house.
The views are inspiring. I find myself often meditating on our walks, and soaking in the peace.
Zoie tries so hard to keep up with her brother's. She is more active here; it's been good for her.
On one of our walks Nicko found some broccoli. We are guessing some industrious rabbit pilfered a garden of someone who lives near the resort.
I don't mind admitting I have had moments of sadness here. Matteo has become a real teen here. I think the daily presence of other teens has inspired him a little. I'm really happy for him though to get in a lot of social time. Our kids have always said they only want to live in the country, Rob and I are now looking at suburban areas, because the kids have been thriving with the daily social interaction. They had that before, but most was when we went to homeschool classes or park days. They really like having kids knock on the door asking for them.
I think these are tangerines. The bigger makes them seem bigger, but they were a little smaller than tennis balls. The kids love discovering something new on our walks every day.
Zander playing peek a boo with Santa. We have to walk by this every day for them to wave and talk to Santa.
Zander's favorite spot. He loves swinging.
My oldest, and my youngest. sniff
Just look at my Zoie! She has decided she doesn't want help anymore. She struggles a bit to get herself on the swing, but she does it!
I love that little face.
See. Triumphant!
I can't help but snap a bazillion pics of him. I am conscious that my bitty baby will be turning two in just four months. My last baby will soon be an older toddler.
So that was our month so far, Stay tuned as I try to pull off Christmas on a small scale, in a small space. :)

Aw - i love reading about your temp residence! Sounds SO ideal! I'll have to get the info - maybe I can rent one for a month this spring? Sounds like our kind of vaca!
Looks like a kumquat. If you pick it, they are sweet-skinned (you eat the skin) and sour as hell inside (you can eat that too)
Nicki, the cottages are like a small little village tucked away. We are going to book early for fourth of July and other holidays since the kids love it so much. The only thing is that I'm so envious of the people with RV spots. They have hot tubs!
I did not think of Kumquat, I will have to be brave and pick one...or trick the kids into doing it for me. :)
Ok I havent been around at all lately and I think I have missed something......you moved? Where are you?
LOL, anyway, it looks like youare all adjusting well and are happy so that's all that matters right?
Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
Hi Nicole, yes we had to move for my husbands job. We are staying at a cottage as a temp residence and looking for another temp residence while we buy a house. :)
